Turing Machines with Two Letters and Two States

چکیده
In this paper we provide a survey of the technique that allows giving a simple proof that all Turing machines with two letters and two states have a decidable halting problem. The result was proved by L. Pavlot-skaya in 1973.

Some improvements in fuzzy turing machines
In this paper, we improve some previous definitions of fuzzy-type Turing machines to obtain degrees of accepting and rejecting in a computational manner. We apply a BFS-based search method and some level’s upper bounds to propose a computational process in calculating degrees of accepting and rejecting. Next, we introduce the class of Extended Fuzzy Turing Machines equipped with indeterminacy s...
متن کاملMonte Carlo Simulation to Compare Markovian and Neural Network Models for Reliability Assessment in Multiple AGV Manufacturing System
We compare two approaches for a Markovian model in flexible manufacturing systems (FMSs) using Monte Carlo simulation. The model which is a development of Fazlollahtabar and Saidi-Mehrabad (2013), considers two features of automated flexible manufacturing systems equipped with automated guided vehicle (AGV) namely, the reliability of machines and the reliability of AGVs in a multiple AGV jobsho...
متن کاملBusy beavers gone wild
When considering a class of Turing machines that halt when started from a blank tape, busy beavers for that class, as coined by Tibor Radó, are those Turing machines which eventually halt after the maximum number of steps (or after producing the maximum number of non-blank symbols). Finding for a class of Turing machines the busy beaver champion (for any of the two competitions) is of course un...
متن کاملSmall Semi-weakly Universal Turing Machines
We present three small universal Turing machines that have 3 states and 7 symbols, 4 states and 5 symbols, and 2 states and 13 symbols, respectively. These machines are semi-weakly universal which means that on one side of the input they have an infinitely repeated word, and on the other side there is the usual infinitely repeated blank symbol. This work can be regarded as a continuation of ear...
متن کاملDeterministic Single - State 2 - Pdas Are Turing - Complete
The well-known simulation of Turing machines by push-down automata with two stacks is shown to be possible, even if the latter has only a single state and is deterministic. This sheds new light on the nature of states and their relationship with storage, and enables a unification of different types of abstract machines. Moreover, further refinements of the Chomsky hierarchy are proposed.
